USPA NEWS - KUALA LUMPUR, July 19 ““ Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak said an emergency Parliament sitting will be called to condemn the inhumane act responsible for the fate of Malaysia Airlines flight MH17, which had gone down in the eastern Ukraine on Thursday nigh.
“We strongly condemn any violence act, which is uncivilized and irresponsible. “To announce the stand of the people of Malaysia, as the Prime Minister, I have decided to call for an emergency Parliament sitting to table a motion condemning any inhumane act,“ Najib said in a special address on flight MH17, which was telecast live via RTM tonight.
He also said the Yang di-Pertuan Agong Tuanku Abdul Halim Mu´adzam Shah on the government´s decision that all flags around the country to be flown half mast beginning tonight until this Monday. Najib also called upon all Muslims in the country, regardless of their political affiliation, to perform a special prayer and doa with hope that nation to be always safe from disasters and threats. “For the non-Muslim, please pray according to your religious beliefs,“ he said.
He then condemned the “heartless, uncivilised, violent and irresponsible action“. “I would like to express deep sadness at the tragedy, as well as condolences and sympathies to the family members of the passengers and crew“. Najib also expressed hope that they will be strong during this difficult time. MH17 went down in eastern Ukraine while on the way to Kuala Lumpur from Amsterdam. All 283 passengers and 15 crew members on board died.
